TACOMA, Washington – It was a tough challenge from the start, and the Puget Sound women's tennis team lost to visiting NCAA Division-I Air Force, 9-0, on Friday afternoon.

The Loggers faired better in doubles competition than in singles. Nicole Bouche and Lisa Owen teamed up at No. 1 doubles, and the duo battled to an 8-5 loss. Elizabeth Chao and Tressa Bild lost at No. 2 doubles, 8-3.

Owen had the most success in singles play for Puget Sound. Competing at No. 1 singles, the freshman dropped the first set, 6-0. However, she fought back to win three games in the second set.

The Loggers return to Northwest Conference action when they host crosstown rival Pacific Lutheran on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m.
