Women's tennis battles Whitworth to a 5-4 victory

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's tennis team earned its fifth victory in six contests when the Loggers edged Whitworth, 5-4, in the Tennis Pavilion on Sunday.

Results

Puget Sound (7-5, 5-4 NWC) won two out of three doubles matches and three singles matches to top the Pirates. Elizabeth Chao and Bridget Myers were triumphant at No. 2 doubles, 8-3. Barclay Fagg and Tressa Bild battled their way to a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles.

Chao earned her second victory of the day at No. 3 singles (6-3, 4-6 6-2), and Fagg won at No. 5 singles (6-1, 3-6, 6-0). Nicole Bouche cruised to win at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-4).

The Loggers return to their home courts to host Colorado College on Tuesday, March 21, at 3 p.m.
