Women's tennis topples Yotes, men lose at Willamette

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's tennis team picked up its eighth win of the season with an 8-1 home victory over College of Idaho, but the Logger men lost on the road at Willamette, 6-3.

Lisa Owen continued her stellar freshman season with a victory at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-3), and senior Elizabeth Chao won at No. 3 singles (6-0, 6-3). Bridget Myers (No. 4 singles) and Barclay Fagg (No. 5 singles) both won by a final score of 6-3, 6-4. Tressa Bild dominated at No. 6 singles (6-1, 6-1).

The Logger women swept doubles competition.

The Puget Sound men won two of three doubles matches. Josh McRoberts and Riley Inn teamed up for an 8-5 victory at No. 1 doubles. Chris Severt and Jacob Kompolt won at No. 2 doubles, 8-5.

Kompolt earned the Loggers' lone victory in singles play (4-6, 6-4, 7-5), competing at the No. slot.

The 2017 season concludes on Saturday, April 15, when the Logger women host Lewis & Clark (12 p.m.), and the men play at the Pioneers (1 p.m.).
