Women's tennis wins fourth consecutive match

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's tennis team vaulted into second place in the Northwest Conference after beating Whitworth, 7-2, in the Tennis Pavilion Saturday. The Logger men lost on the road at Whitworth, 9-0.

The Logger women pushed their winning streak to four consecutive matches. Bridget Myers had a dramatic victory at No. 3 singles. She lost the first set, 6-3, but battled back to win the next two sets, 6-4 and 6-3.

Lisa Owen, the reigning NWC Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, won at both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. In singles play, Owen won in two sets (7-5, 6-4). She and Nicole Bouche partnered up to win at No. 1 doubles, 8-5.

Bouche was victorious at No. 2 singles (6-2, 6-1).

The Logger women are 5-1 in the Northwest Conference, and they are on the brink of clinching a NWC Tournament berth. The women host Whitman Sunday, April 14, at 10 a.m., while the men compete on the road against the Blues.
