TACOMA, Washington – After opening the 2020 spring season against two NCAA D-I opponents, the Puget Sound women's tennis team won its first NCAA D-III match, 6-3, against Pacific Lutheran in the Tennis Pavilion Saturday.
The Loggers (1-2) won four singles matches and two doubles matches. Barclay Fagg won at No 2 singles (6-1, 6-4), and Lia Van Steeter battled to a victory at No. 3 singles (6-2, 6-7, 7-5).
Avery Honaker won the No. 4 singles match in three sets (6-2, 5-7, 6-1). Arisa Dintcho won her first-career top-six singles match in the No. 6 spot (2-6, 6-4, 6-1).
Bridget Myers and Fagg teamed up to win No. 1 doubles (8-4), while Van Steeter and Alexis Choy won No. 2 doubles (8-3).
The Loggers' next match is at home against Whitman, Feb. 16.
