NEWBERG, Ore. - Completing a 4-0 weekend, the Puget Sound
Loggers took a pair from the George Fox Bruins in a Northwest
Conference softball doubleheader on Sunday afternoon in Newberg,
Ore. The Loggers held on for a 4-2 win in the opener before
blasting past GFU, 14-5, in the nightcap.

of the fifth when Megan Janes reached on a fielding error that
allowed Amelia Kurashige-Elliott (Berkeley, Calif.) to score.
Freshman Aryn Grause (Corvallis, Ore./Crescent Valley) then tripled
to score Meghan Watson (Brier, Wash./Mountlake Terrace) and
Janes. Stephanie Hatley (Keizer, Ore./McNary) then reached on
an error that allowed Grause to score as UPS put up four runs on
just two hits with three GFU errors.

more in the bottom of the seventh but it wasn't enough to catch the
Loggers, who collected the 4-2 win. Auriel Sperberg

Minn./St. Paul Academy) as the Loggers took the 4-0 lead.
Puget Sound made it 8-0 in the top of the fourth with four runs
in the frame, including three on a home run by senior Victoria
Raeburn (Gladstone, Ore.). The George Fox offense finally got
it going in the bottom of the fifth with five runs but three runs
in each of the sixth and seventh innings gave the Loggers the 14-5
win.
Grause picked up her third win of the season, allowing five
runs, all unearned, on five hits in four and two-thirds innings
pitched. Sperberg came in in relief, pitching two and
one-third innings of no-hit, shutout ball.
