Lacrosse Concludes 2009 Campaign With A Pair of Home Wins

TACOMA, Wash. - Honoring four seniors before tgae game on Sunday, the Puget Sound Logger women's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2009 season with a pair of home wins, defeating Pacific, 21-15, on Saturday and Linfield, 18-11, on Sunday on Peyton Field at Baker Stadium in Tacoma, Wash.

On Saturday, the Loggers got seven goal each from seniors Jessica Knight (Portland, Ore./Grant) and Katie Schlesinger (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lakeridge).  Sophomore goalkeeper Ana Calciano (Farmington, Conn./Miss Porter's School) had a season-high 25 saves against the upstart Boxers.

On Sunday, it was senior day but sophomore Sofia Lama (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Torrey Pines) stole the show, scoring seven times as the Loggers defeated the Wildcats 18-11.  Knight added four goals in her final collegiate match while Calciano made 15 saves to collect the win.

The Loggers conclude the 2009 season with a record of 10-2 overall.
