Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – Colorado College ended the first half on a 7-1 run to take a commanding lead and kept the momentum for an 18-8 victory over the University of Puget Sound lacrosse team. The loss ended the Loggers (5-5) five-game winning streak and was the conclusion of a six-game homestand.
Early in the game, the Loggers kept pace with the Tigers (8-1) and found themselves down 5-4 with 10:4 left in the first half. Julia Schulman scored one of her team-leading five goals to bring the Loggers within one.
However, Elise Burchard answered back for the Tigers just 13 seconds later and the Tigers went on a 7-1 run to end the half for a 12-5 advantage. The Loggers opportunities were limited in the second half as they could not make up any ground.
Ana Calciano made 16 saves in goal but the Tigers relentless attack took 38 shots in the match to keep the senior keeper busy on Senior Day.
The Tigers spread the scoring around as three Tigers tallied three goals and two more tallied two to lead the attack.
The Loggers will hit the road for the first time since Mar. 15 to take on Pacific on Apr. 8 and Linfield on Apr. 9.
