Box Score 2 TACOMA, Washington - Jaci Young hit her first home run of the season as the Puget Sound softball team battled Willamette through nine innings, but the Loggers eventually fell, 13-7, on Saturday afternoon.
Young belted a three-run home run that gave the Loggers (1-14, 1-8 NWC) a 5-1 lead in the second inning, but the Bearcats (2-13, 2-7 NWC) chipped away. Willamette plated three runs with two outs in the seventh inning to even the score, 7-7. Following a scoreless eighth inning by both teams, Willamette pushed six runs across the plate in the ninth inning.
Erica Gott had her second multi-hit game of the season, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Willamette won the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, 15-0.
The Loggers host Linfield for two games on Sunday , March 15, starting at 12 p.m.
