Box Score 2 TUCSON, Arizona – Paige Schaffer blasted a grand slam as the Puget Sound softball team beat St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, 11-3, in the final game of the Loggers' six-game stay in Arizona on Friday. Puget Sound lost to Dickinson, 9-3, earlier in the day.

The Loggers scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning, and it all started with a leadoff walk by Jessica Gott (1-for-1, RBI, R). She moved into scoring position on Jaci Young's (0-for-1) sac bunt, and Amanda Fehr (1-for-4, R) singled to put runners on the corners. Lisa Colombo's (1-for-2, RBI, R) single drove in Gott, and Kristi Nagamine (1-for-1, RBI, R) singled to load the bases.
Schaffer (4-for-4, 4 RBI, 3 R, HR) stepped into the box and delivered her second home run of the season, giving the Loggers a 6-1 lead. The hits kept coming in the first, as Jessica Shaw (4-for-4, 3 RBI, 2 2B, R), Kasey Stern (1-for-3), and Gott hit three consecutive singles, with Gott's base knock scoring Shaw.
Shaw's double in the sixth inning to score Schaffer, who reached on a single, ended the game as Puget Sound went up, 11-3.
The Loggers clinched their fourth win of the season, marking the program's most victories since 2011, and Puget Sound is only halfway through its 2015 season.

The Loggers took a 3-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a solo home run by Kayla Andrus (1-for-1, HR) and a two-run single by Amanda Fehr (2-for-3, 2B), but Dickinson scored nine unanswered runs for the win. Fehr and Marissa Jeffers finished with two hits apiece.
The Loggers return to the field when they host Linfield for a makeup doubleheader on Wednesday, March 25, starting at 2 p.m.
