TA­­COMA, Washington – Kayla Andrus hit her second home run of the season and Jessica Gott collected four hits in all, but the Puget Sound softball team lost both ends of a home doubleheader against Linfield on Tuesday.

Puget Sound 1, Linfield 8 

Andrus belted a solo shot to straightaway centerfield in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Wildcats' (23-9, 12-8 NWC) five-run third inning propelled them to a victory.

Andrus also pitched four innings in relief for the Loggers (4-28, 1-19 NWC). The Kent, Washington yielded just one run (unearned) on four hits and a walk. Kristi Nagamine and Marissa Jeffers both hit their third doubles of the season. 

Puget Sound 3, Linfield 7 

Gott matched her career-high with three hits, including her third double of the season, but Linfield broke a 3-3 tie with a grand slam in the sixth inning to secure the win. 

The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the second inning, but the Gott sisters evened the score in the third inning. Jessica Gott hit a leadoff double to left field, and Erica Gott's double to center allowed Jessica to touch home. Linfield posted two more runs in the top of the fourth inning, but Puget Sound answered right back with of its own in the bottom of the stanza.

Amber Popovich drew a two-out walk and Jessica Gotta followed with a single that moved Popovich to third. Haley Gray's double deep down the left-field line allowed both runners to score and even the game, 3-3. 

Five Loggers finished with multiple hits in the second game: Jessica Gott, Lisa Colombo Erica Gott, Kristi Nagamine, and Jessica Shaw. 

The Loggers continue conference play at home when George Fox comes to Tacoma for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 11, starting at 12 p.m.
