Smith scores five goals in loss to Pacific

FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Kerri Smith scored five goals, but the Puget Sound lacrosse team fell to Pacific, 22-8.  

Smith led the way for the Loggers (1-11, 1-5 NWC) with five goals and two assists. Callie Holgate added two goals, while Andriana Cunningham chipped in one score.

Pacific (8-4, 5-1 NWC) went up 5-0 before the Loggers got on the board with an unassisted Smith goal. The Boxers led 13-5 at halftime.

Goalkeeper Leah Stromberg (1-11) made five saves. Freshman Rebecca Simon played the second half in goal, making one save. Four Loggers had two ground balls, while Smith and Holgate both recorded three draw controls. Elena Becker, Hailey Shoemaker, and Hannah Nichols each caused two turnovers.   

Puget Sound will next travel to Linfield on Sunday, April 17. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
