Loggers blank first place Lutes on senior day

TACOMA, Washington -The Puget Sound men's soccer team honored senior day and concluded season with a 1-0 win over first place and crosstown rival, Pacific Lutheran.

Before the match, the Loggers celebrated their eight seniors and their families: Robert Jorgenson, Nathan Otto, Ari Taublieb, Benjamin Whitham, Zac Lokay, Vincent Von Luehrte,  Chet Selis and Ezra Kraus.

The Loggers found the game-winner in the 23rd minute of the first half. Forward Luke Murdock netted his shot from the corner of the 18 yard box, securing the Loggers' victory.  Murdock finished the season with four goals, and one assist.

Both teams continued to battle throughout second half, but the Lutes failed to find the equalizer. Puget Sound held onto their lead and out-shot first place Pacific Lutheran, 9-8. 

The Loggers finished the season with an overall record of 10-6-1 and a conference record of 8-5-1. For the second week in a row Puget Sound defeated the first place team.
