TACOMA, Wash. –  Haley Gray belted her first home run of the season, but the Loggers lost their first Northwest Conference game of the season at home, 11-5.

Puget Sound entered the home half of the second inning in a 1-0 hole, but the Loggers rallied for three runs. Kaitlyn Webster led off with a single and scored on Jessica Shimoda's double to left-center field. Gray followed with a two-run blast over the left field fence to give Puget Sound a 3-1 edge.

Willamette answered with a run in the third inning and five more in the fourth to put the game out of reach.

The Loggers were able to muster two more runs in the sixth inning. Shimoda and Gray drew consecutive walks, and both moved up a base thanks to Jenna Llamas' sac bunt. Jaci Young's sac fly allowed Shimoda to score, and Amber Popovich smacked an RBI double that plated Gray.

Popovich finished the game 3-for-4 at the plate, while Shimoda and Gray scored two runs apiece.

The second game of the double header is currently tied, 9-9, at the end of the seventh inning. The game was suspended due to lack of daylight. The game will be picked back up on Saturday, March 25, and then the final two games will be played.
