Box Score WALLA WALLA, Washington – Six different Loggers scored, but the Puget Sound lacrosse team fell to Whitman, 18-7, on Saturday afternoon on the road.
Haley Schuster led the Loggers (2-2, 1-1 NWC) with two goals. Meghan Bacher, Roxanne Krietzman, Ali Walker, Marcella Heineke, and Izzy Amaya each scored a goal. Ella Frazer had two assists for Puget Sound.
Whitman (3-3, 2-1 NWC) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first three minutes of the game. The Loggers fought back to within one, at 4-3, but the Blues would score nine of the final 10 goals in the half to take a 13-4 lead into halftime. Whitman opened the second half with four consecutive goals. The Loggers scored three of the final four goals in the game, but would ultimately fall, 18-7.
Hailey Shoemaker and Elena Becker led the Loggers with five grounds balls each and two caused turnovers each. Goalkeeper Ally Benko (1-2) took the loss, making 10 saves in 60 minutes.
The Loggers will next travel to Texas for a pair of games. Puget Sound first plays Carroll in a neutral site game at Dallas on Friday, March 17.
