Lacrosse opens Texas trip with win over Carroll

IRVING, Texas – Six different Loggers scored, as the Puget Sound lacrosse team defeated Carroll, 10-3, on Friday afternoon to begin a two-game swing in Texas.

Meghan Bacher, Hannah Nichols, Roxanne Krietzman, and Ali Walker all scored two goals for the Loggers (3-2). Rebecca Simon and Haley Schuster each chipped in a goal.

The Loggers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game. Carroll (1-4) scored two goals, but Puget Sound responded with three unanswered to enter halftime up 8-2. The Loggers played the second half a man up due to injuries, and outscored the Pioneers 2-1, to earn a 10-3 victory.   

Izzy Amaya lead the squad with six ground balls, while Ella Frazer scooped five. Frazer also recorded four draw controls. Nichols led the Loggers with three caused turnovers. Ally Benko (2-2) earned the victory, making five saves.  

The Loggers will next take on Dallas on Saturday, March 18. The game is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m.
