Webster homers as Loggers nearly upset No. 11 Bruins

NEWBERG, Oregon – The Puget Sound softball team nearly pulled off a remarkable upset at George Fox, but the No. 11 Bruins held on for a 2-1 win. George Fox is nationally ranked by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Kaitlyn Webster blasted her first home run of the season in the third inning, as the solo shot gave the Loggers a 1-0 edge. However, the Bruins evened the score in the sixth inning, and took the lead in the fifth. 

Jessica Gott pitched all six innings in the circle, allowing just two earned runs.

The Loggers and Bruins play another doubleheader Saturday, March 31, starting at 12 p.m.
