DeGuzman belts first-career home run for Loggers

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound freshman Hana DeGuzman cleared the outfield fence for the first time as a Logger, but the softball team lost two games to Pacific, 13-2 and 17-0, Sunday afternoon.

In the bottom of the first inning of the game, DeGuzman stepped to the plate as the Loggers' leadoff batter. She belted a solo shot to center field for her first collegiate home run.

Puget Sound pushed across another run in the fourth inning. Marissa Oda and Maddie Colombo both reached base on errors, and Jessica Shimoda delivered an RBI single that plated Oda.

The Loggers hit the road for a four-game Northwest Conference series at Whitworth, March 16-17.
