Box Score PORTLAND, Oregon – All five starting Loggers scored in double figures as the Puget Sound men's basketball team finished its 2020-21 season with a thunderous 106-78 win at Multnomah Thursday night. It's the most points scored in a game by Puget Sound since the Loggers beat Pacific, 110-101, Feb. 2019.
Freshman Paul Johnson led all players in scoring with 27 points, and he pulled down a season-high eight rebounds. Cal Hansen scored 25 points and narrowly missed a double-double by grabbing nine boards. His six assists against the Lions are a season-high.
Will Mathews also approached a double-double by scoring 12 points to go with nine rebounds. Grant Erickson added 12 points and seven boards, while Donovan Wilson finished with 11 points.
Tyrese Yussuf-Willis netted nine and pulled down eight rebounds.
Puget Sound held a 48-38 lead at halftime, but the Loggers really opened up the game in the second half. The Lions pulled to within 56-47 four minutes into the second half, but consecutive 3-pointers by Erickson and Mathews pushed the Logger lead to 62-47.
Those two treys were the start of a 17-2 run for Puget Sound.
Overall, the Loggers shot 51.4-percent from the floor and 46.4-percent from 3-point range.
