Box Score 2 TACOMA, Washington – Savanna Smith went the distance to lead the Puget Sound softball team to a 2-0 home win over Pacific Saturday afternoon. The Loggers lost the first game of the doubleheader, 3-1.

Smith allowed only four hits and struck out four to blank the Boxers.
The Loggers scored both of their runs in the fifth inning. Kaitlyn Webster hit a one-out single and then took third base on a single by Mikayla Newman. Newman then swiped second base, and an errant throw by the catcher allowed Webster to score the game's first run.
But Puget Sound wasn't done there. Lauren Rice ripped a single to right field, allowing Newman to score easily from second base.

Noelle Kerr was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, but the Boxers' three-run fourth winning provided all the offence Pacific needed.
The Loggers got its lone run in the fifth inning. Kerr hit a double, and Cameron Zell came in to pinch run. A groundout by Newman allowed Zell to move to third base, and then Hana DeGuzman smacked a double to score Zell easily.
The Loggers and Boxers have two more games at Logger Field Sunday, April 18, starting at 11 a.m.
