Box Score TACOMA, Washington – Olivia Almy made 19 saves and Hannah Bushing scored three times, but Linfield outlasted the Puget Sound lacrosse team, 9-8, in Baker Stadium Sunday afternoon.
Sunday's game started similarly to Saturday's contest when the Wildcats jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. However, the Loggers scored three consecutive goals to go up by one.
Hayden Hotchkiss netted the first goal of the game for the Loggers nine minutes into the first half. Less than two minutes later, Lauren Mastin scored the first of her two goals. Midway through the first half, Bee Bridge put the Loggers ahead, 3-2.
Bushing scored her second goal of the first half with 2:30 left on the clock, giving the Loggers a 5-4 edge at halftime.
Linfield opened the second half with consecutive goals, but Bridge scored again to tie it up, 6-6.
Mastin's second goal of the game came with 11:31 left in regulation, and it brought the Loggers even with Linfield once again, 8-8.
However, the Wildcats scored with five minutes left in the game, and it stood as the game-winner.
Puget Sound next hosts Whitworth for two games, April 24-25.
