Box Score TACOMA, Washington – Hayden Hotchkiss scored six goals, and Hannah Bushing added 4, as the Puget Sound lacrosse team won its 2021 home-opener against Pacific, 21-15, in Baker Stadium Saturday afternoon.
The first of three goals for Isabele Riser have the Loggers a 1-0 lead one minute into the game, and Abby Stranahan scored less than two minutes later to give Puget Sound a 2-0 lead.
Pacific briefly claimed a lead, 4-3, but Bushing's second goal of the game tied it up. Midway through the first half, the Loggers scored five unanswered goals – including three by Hotchkiss.
The Loggers closed out the first half by netting four goals in the less than two minutes. Hotchkiss scored twice in that span, while Emily LaRiviere and Riser also scored. The Loggers took a 13-10 lead into halftime.
The Boxers opened the second half by scoring first, but then the Loggers scored six consecutive goals.
Olivia Almy made a season-high eight saves to claim her first win protecting the cage.
The Loggers and Boxers meet again in Baker Stadium Sunday, April 4, at 1 p.m.
