Loggers downed by Willamette, 19-5

SALEM, Oregon – Emily LaRiviere scored three goals and assisted on another, but the Puget Sound lacrosse team lost at Willamette, 19-5, Saturday afternoon.

The Bearcats raced out to a 7-0 lead, and LaRiviere scored the Loggers' first goal of the game a little more than 11 minutes into the first half. Less than two minutes later, Hayden Hotchkiss scored a goal and it seemed that Puget Sound was gaining momentum.

But the Bearcats scored five unanswered goals to take a 12-2 lead into halftime. Bee Bridge scored on a free-position shot in the second half, and LaRiviere netted the final two goals of the game.

The Loggers' season finale is at Willamette Sunday, May 2, at 1 p.m.
