Box Score 2 TACOMA, Washington – Hana DeGuzman delivered a memorable gift for her senior teammates when she hit a walk-off single to beat Pacific Lutheran, 3-2, in the final game of the 2021 season at Logger Field Sunday afternoon.
Hailee Ueyama hit an RBI single in the first inning, and DeGuzman's RBI single in the third inning gave the Loggers a 2-0 lead, but PLU evened the score through six frames.
Kelsie Sullivan got the seventh-inning rally started with a one-out double, and Noelle Kerr and Mikayla Newman drew walks to load the bases. The Lutes got a force-out at home plate when Hope Fleischman grounded into a fielder's choice, but DeGuzman stepped up into familiar territory.
One month ago (April 2), DeGuzman hit a walk-off single to beat No. 1 Linfield. Sunday, she came through in the clutch again with another walk-off base hit.
Savanna Smith earned the win in the circle by allowing just two runs and striking out eight in a complete-game effort.
Following the exciting win, Puget Sound celebrated its two seniors and their families: Noelle Kerr and Kaitlyn Webster.

Kelsie Sullivan hit her third home run of the season in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader, but the Lutes homered three times to beat Puget Sound.
Both teams traded one run in the second inning, with Newman hitting a single that scored Webster from second base.
The Lutes put up a three-spot in the fourth inning. In the bottom of the stanza, Abbi Wong reached on a single and came into score on Sullivan's home run to right-centerfield.
The Loggers finished the season with 10 Northwest Conference wins – the program's most conference wins since 2010.
