Box Score

McMINNVILLE, Ore. – The University of Puget Sound lacrosse team finished its season on a high note with an 18-9 win over Linfield on Saturday. The Loggers evened their record at 6-6 for the 2011 season.

Julia Schulman scored the first of her team-leading five six goals on less than five minutes in and the Loggers didn't trail the rest of the way. Senior Kristine Morris contributed four goals and senior Anna Gunderson added three more in their final games as Loggers.

Senior Ana Calciano also made seven saves while holding the Wildcats (1-11) to single digits.

"Overall, our team has made some dramatic changes in learning how to play together," commented head coach Liana Halstead. "We saw the ball move from one end to the other, finding the next teammate, realizing that our effort needs to be 100 percent at all times."

In the first half, the Loggers sprinted out to a 9-3 advantage behind four goals from Schulman.

The Loggers did not let up in the second half as they put 10 more goals in the net. The Wildcats scored five, including three straight goals from Anna Gorciak.

The win brings the Loggers back to .500, giving them four consecutive season with a winning percentage of .500 or better.

"Our seniors left on a great note," added Halstead. "We had more draw controls in the midfield for Pavlat and Gunderson than ever in the season and Ana's saves and Silliman's defense were strong as ever."
